DESIGN and DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS
Mobile Augmented Reality native app
Our client, the Rensselaer County Historical Society (RCHS), owns a house museum in downtown Troy, NY. Their challenge is that historical house visits and revenues are decreasing across the U.S. This AR mobile native app engages users with a new, cutting-edge experience. They are transformed from a tourist on a static house tour to a guest at an 1850 Ball. They experience their visit in the first person, interacting with the family and servants in the local vernacular. This unique app was featured by a local blogger for its time traveler features.
StudySpace mobile app
Students spend time walking in the RPI library, searching for an available study room. HCI Activity Theory and empirical observations were applied to create this app where users quickly view available rooms on a mobile device. Haptic interface alerts notify team members to "MeetMe" in a specific location. This conceptual model can be applied to public meeting places, gyms, coffeehouses, cafes, etc. In a team, I created the conceptual model, requirements specs, flow charts, and wireframes.
User-Centered Design website redesign
Tasked with increasing user engagement and usage retention, ideating a call to action to become a member, and creating more current designs based on social media standards.
Applied UCD principles to sketch new ideas, narrate the user experience, create wireframes based on users' mental models, usability testing to discover areas of improvement and validate designs, and iterate designs for final designs.

Medical web app re-ideation / new design
Initiated the re-ideation and redesign of an existing web app while introducing UX, UCD and IxD design principles to peers. Created and executed contextual inquiries, client surveys, IxD process flows, functional specs, site map, sketchboards, wireframes, and hi-fi DHTML prototypes with jQuery to be used as the framework for the C# application.
